P2PU Wants You!

It’s almost time for the next round of courses at P2PU, and we want you!

Yes, P2PU is gearing up for our fourth round of 100% free and open courses, and we welcome just about anyone who might be interested in running a course on just about anything.

We’re also going to be repeating our extremely popular and valuable orientation for new course facilitators, so if you’re new to P2PU and open education, have no fear – we’ll give you all the tools and advice you might need to run a fantastic online course.

Last month, we ran 6-week long courses on (among other things) Finance, Copyright for Educators, DIY Math, Open Journalism, Music Theory and Web Design. They were extremely successful, and we can’t wait to see what kinds of exciting, inspirational courses people are willing to offer this cycle.

The orientation is set to begin on January 10th, and courses are set to start on January 26th. All you need to do is go to http://p2pu.org, sign up, and use the My Actions tab to create your draft course. Or, you can sign up, and follow this link to the course creation page.

Courses already in the works include Applied Science for Gardeners, Tracing Your Family Tree and How To Create a Firefox Extension.

This round of courses, we’re also going to be running courses within the P2PU/Mozilla School of Webcraft, and continuing with our extremely successful and popular set of courses on Copyright for Educators around the world.

People who run courses at P2PU are a diverse bunch. We’re hackers and hacks, writers, teachers, students, bass guitar players, lawyers, poets and online activists (to name just a few). What unites us is a love of learning from and with other people, a desire to explore new ways of learning and a good sense of humour. We’re a respectful community of enthusiastic learners, and we’d love it if you joined us.

Maybe we can take a look at bridging some MOOC fun with P2PU next year… would love to set up a chat to talk about it.

    cheers.
